AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf has arrived in Venezuela, leading a delegation aimed at reinforcing cooperation between the two nations and countering external threats.
According to IRNA, upon landing at Caracas Airport on Sunday, Qalibaf was received with an official welcome by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Khel Pinto and other high-ranking officials.
During his remarks, Qalibaf highlighted the shared struggles of Iran and Venezuela in resisting global hegemonic powers, emphasizing that their common challenges make closer relations more crucial than ever. He described the long battle of Iran and Venezuela against global arrogance as a defining bond between the two allies.
Pinto praised Iran as a stabilizing force, commending its leadership for decades of resilience in overcoming U.S. sanctions and external pressure. Iran’s enemies have done everything in their power—from sanctions to war—but they have failed to achieve their goals, Pinto stated, adding that Iran’s victories are also celebrated by Venezuela.
Following the official reception, the Iranian delegation visited the tomb of Simón Bolívar, Latin America’s revolutionary leader, to pay tribute to his legacy. Qalibaf signed a memorial book, honoring Bolívar’s role in resisting colonialism and advocating for independence across the continent.
The visit underscores the continued strategic partnership between Tehran and Caracas, reaffirming their commitment to mutual support and regional stability.
